Dear AllWe are looking for highly experienced and technically proficient Lead Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for a major Saudi Aramco LSTK project involving the relocation of 11 water wells. The role covers the supply, installation, and commissioning of submersible pump systems and associated piping, electrical, and I&C infrastructure.The candidate will be responsible for leading all I&C engineering activities to ensure full compliance with Saudi Aramco standards, technical integrity, and successful integration across all disciplines and project phases.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Instrumentation & Controls engineering scope for all 11 well locations throughout engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Review and approve all I&C deliverables issued by Detailed Engineering Design Contractor including:
o P&IDs, I/O lists, instrument datasheets, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, loop diagrams, junction box layouts, and control philosophies.
  • Define control system architecture involving PLC/RTU panels, SCADA interfaces, VFD controls, and integration with remote monitoring systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), project specifications, and relevant international codes (IEC, ISA, API, etc.).
  • Coordinate with multidiscipline teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Process) and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate data exchange and system integration.
  • Participate in vendor technical bid evaluations (TBE), factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), and interface testing.
  • Provide engineering input and leadership during site installation, pre-commissioning, loop checking, and commissioning of all instrumentation and control systems.
  • Lead HAZOP reviews, SIL assessments (if applicable), and control logic validations for submersible pump systems.
  • Prepare and manage I&C work packs, site redlines, and final as-built documentation in coordination with site teams.
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination with Saudi Aramco PMT, construction contractors, and vendors.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in I&C engineering, with at least 5 years in a Lead I&C Engineer role on large-scale LSTK or EPC oil & gas field projects.
  • Strong experience with:
o Submersible pump control systems
o Remote well site instrumentation
o VFDs, soft starters, and PLC-based control systems
o SCADA, RTU integration, and telemetry systems
  • In-depth knowledge of hazardous area classification, intrinsic safety, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Experience with Saudi Aramco standards (SAES, SAMSS, SAIC, SATIP) and prior Aramco project execution.
  • Proficiency in design and engineering tools such as AutoCAD, SPI (Intools), and instrumentation sizing tools.
Preferred Skills:
  • Aramco-approved I&C Lead Engineer status (preferred or fast-trackable).
  • Experience with brownfield well relocations, upgrades, or tie-ins in remote oilfield environments.
  • Familiarity with project management and tracking tools for deliverables, submittals, and interface registers.
  • Strong communication, team leadership, and client interaction skills.
