We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Oil Field Equipment Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and developing oil field equipment such as Cementing Units, Pumping Units, Slickline Units, Hydraulic Power Packs, Acid Tanks, Frac Units, etc. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the equipment meets performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop oilfield equipment (e.g., as Cementing Units, Pumping Units, Slickline Units, Hydraulic Power Packs, Acid Tanks, Pumps, Separators, etc.) using CAD/CAE tools.
- Perform engineering calculations, FEA, and simulation analysis to validate product designs.
- Ensure designs meet API, ASME, ISO, and other applicable industry standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to optimize designs for production and cost-efficiency.
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and failure analysis.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
- Review and revise designs based on field performance feedback.
- Provide technical support during equipment installation, commissioning, and field service.
- Maintain comprehensive design documentation and change control records.
- Continuously explore new materials, technologies, and engineering practices to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in oilfield equipment design or mechanical engineering (more for senior roles).
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor).
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of structural mechanics, hydraulics, and metallurgy.
- Familiarity with industry standards: API (6A, 16A, 17D), ASME codes, NACE MR0175, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and project coordination skills.
- Experience in onshore and offshore design.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and PLM tools is a plus.
- Certification in Project Management or Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
- Office-based role with occasional site or field visits.
- May require travel to manufacturing facilities or field locations.
