Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimation Engineer to join our oil field services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, conceptual and detailed equipment designs, and technical documentation for a wide range of oil field systems and components. This role bridges technical engineering knowledge with commercial insight to support proposal development, procurement planning, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project specifications, client requirements, and technical drawings to develop accurate cost and time estimates for oil field equipment and systems.
  • Design and model mechanical systems such as Skids, Cementing Units, Pumping Units, Slickline Units, Hydraulic Power Packs, Acid Tanks, Frac Units, etc. and other upstream oil & gas equipment.
  • Use CAD and simulation software (e.g., Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS) to prepare 2D/3D models and engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and project management teams to ensure feasibility and cost-efficiency of designs.
  • Prepare bill of materials (BOM), data sheets, and technical documentation.
  • Support the sales and bidding process by providing technical input, clarifications, and value engineering options.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as API, ASME, ANSI, and relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in design reviews and risk assessments; propose innovative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
Job Description
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in design and/or estimation of oil field or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Strong understanding of oil & gas upstream processes and associated mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor) and estimation tools (Excel, ERP/MRP systems).
  • Familiarity with codes and standards: API, ASME Section VIII, B31.3, ISO, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with upstream service companies equipment, vessel and skid package design.
  • Exposure to international projects and standards.
  • Certification in project estimation or PMP is a plus.
