- Lead the design, planning, and development of water and wet utility systems, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are accurately designed and scoped.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk analysis to determine the most effective solutions for projects.
- Oversee the implementation of projects, managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Ensure that construction, operation, and maintenance of water and wet utilities are carried out according to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
- Ensure all water and wet utilities projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities to begin project execution.
- Monitor project adherence to environmental and quality standards to mitigate risks and liabilities
- Develop project budgets, including cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Track and control project costs throughout the lifecycle, ensuring that any variations from the budget are addressed.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Manage and guide project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all levels.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
- Ensure high standards of quality control are implemented during design, construction, and maintenance phases.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and reviews to ensure all project components meet the required standards and specifications.
- Address and resolve any quality-related issues that arise during project execution.
- Provide regular project status updates to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and present reports detailing project progress, challenges, and potential risks.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met.
- Identify potential project risks related to design, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to address any challenges or delays that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed to minimize health and safety risks on-site.
- Ensure projects incorporate sustainable practices and minimize environmental impacts where possible.
- Advise on the use of energy-efficient systems and technologies that align with environmental sustainability goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in water/wet utilities engineering, with a focus on project management.
- Proven track record in managing the planning, design, and execution of water and wastewater systems or similar infrastructure projects.
- Experience in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment, wastewater systems, and wet utilities infrastructure.
- Proficiency with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, EPANET).
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations related to water/wastewater systems.
- Excellent project management skills with experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer).
- Experience with sustainable water and wastewater management practices.
- Knowledge of international water and wastewater standards and regulations.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and international stakeholders.
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and hydraulic modeling tools.
- Ability to adapt to fast-changing project requirements and environments.
- Knowledge in the pumping stations and storage reservoirs is an advantage
