The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, preventive maintenance, and timely repair of all hotel building systems and equipment. The role demands a hands-on engineer who understands the unique operational needs of the hospitality sector, ensuring a seamless guest experience while optimizing costs and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.Key Responsibilities
1. Operation & Maintenance
- Monitor, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, and building systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and guest inconvenience.
- Ensure proper functioning of elevators, chillers, boilers, water treatment systems, and fire safety systems.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to reduce unexpected failures.
- Conduct regular inspections and identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
- Optimize energy consumption by monitoring systems and implementing efficiency measures.
- Support cost control by selecting appropriate spare parts and materials without compromising quality.
- Ensure all systems comply with local codes, health, and safety regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to engineering and safety standards.
- Train hotel staff on basic safety and equipment handling procedures as needed.
- Work closely with other departments to support operational needs.
- Provide technical support during special events, renovations, or hotel upgrades.
- Ensure engineering work causes minimal disruption to guest experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in hotel or hospitality facility management.
- Solid knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC troubleshooting, and building management systems (BMS).
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, fire systems, and emergency procedures.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or shifts if required.
