- Support the Senior MEP Engineer in overseeing the maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, hydraulics, elevators, and associated infrastructure, ensuring compliance with established KPIs and industry standards.
- Ensure proper execution and monitor preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance activities for mechanical systems in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and approved maintenance plans.
- Supervise and guide service provider teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to safety regulations and site-specific procedures during mechanical maintenance activities.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of mechanical maintenance programs, including reviewing maintenance checklists and task frequency.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical assets to ensure operational integrity, performance efficiency, and compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards.
- Evaluate the competency and performance of service provider staff; identify skill gaps and recommend relevant training or development actions to the Senior MEP Engineer.
- Monitor spare parts usage for mechanical systems and contribute to forecasting and inventory control to ensure the availability of critical components.
- Participate in asset condition assessments and support the Senior MEP Engineer in developing long-term plans for system upgrades, replacements, or modernization.
- Assist in reviewing/preparing technical documentation, including reports, work completion certificates, method statements, and service records.
- Conduct troubleshooting for major mechanical system failures, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Participate in commissioning and handover processes for new mechanical installations; raise and track the resolution of EIL items.
- Promote and maintain safety compliance across all mechanical maintenance activities and actively participate in internal and external HSE audits.
- Contribute to the implementation of operational policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the reliability and performance of mechanical systems.
- Provide input during design reviews and scope development for projects involving mechanical systems within the Senior MEP Engineer's area of responsibility.
- Support the identification and safe decommissioning or disposal of outdated or non-functional mechanical assets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior MEP Engineer, including acting as a liaison between contractors and internal stakeholders when required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10-15 years' experience in mechanical design principles, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, and conversant with relevant standards.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including design, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent technical competency in the field of Mechanical systems especially HVAC, Hydraulics & Plumbing, Conveyors.
- Excellent command of oral and written English.
- Thorough working knowledge of operating area of assigned department.
- Must have ability to perform statistical and problem analyses while working under time constraints.
- Flexible and delivers high-quality results within deadlines.
- Good knowledge of SAP & MAXIMO system as a monitoring & tracking tool.
- Position requires face to face telephone and written communications with end users. These communications will range from a simple exchange of information to requests for assistance or service, to more complicated inquiries related to proposed work or work in progress.
- Have experience in testing of various equipment and systems as part of commissioning and testing the facilities.
