As a Hardware Specialist (Storage and Backup), you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our storage and backup infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT teams to ensure efficient storage and backup solutions are in place to support business operations.Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain storage and backup solutions to meet the organization's needs.
Manage storage infrastructure, including storage area networks (SANs), network-attached storage (NAS), and storage arrays.
Configure and optimize storage systems for performance, capacity, and reliability.
Monitor storage systems to ensure optimal functionality and proactively address any issues or bottlenecks.
Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity.
Perform regular backups and schedule periodic testing and validation to ensure data integrity.
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate storage and backup systems with other infrastructure components.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users related to storage and backup systems.
Maintain accurate documentation of storage and backup configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in storage and backup technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Hardware Specialist with a focus on storage and backup systems.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with storage area networks (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS).
Experience in configuring and optimizing storage systems for performance, capacity, and reliability.
Proficiency in implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions.
Knowledge of backup methodologies, tape libraries, and data replication technologies.
Experience with storage management and monitoring tools.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve storage and backup issues promptly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and end-users.
Relevant certifications in storage and backup technologies (e.g., EMC, IBM, NetApp) are desirable.
