Job Vacancy: Certified Stainless Steel Welder – Specializing in Precision TIG Welding for Commercial Kitchen Equipment
Position: Stainless Steel TIG Welder (GTAW) – Fabrication Specialist
Location: Jeddah
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Mid to Senior Level
Industry: Industrial Fabrication / Commercial Kitchen Manufacturing
About Us:
We are a stainless steel factory which is a precision manufacturer of high-grade stainless steel (AISI 304/316) kitchen equipment for commercial food service environments, including restaurants, hospitals, and institutional kitchens. Our products—such as modular workstations, undercounter units, exhaust systems, prep tables, and sinks—are engineered to meet strict hygiene, durability, and structural standards. We are seeking a highly skilled Stainless Steel Welder with advanced expertise in TIG (GTAW) welding processes and a proven track record in food-grade fabrication.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a technically proficient welder specializing in autogenous and filler metal TIG welding (GTAW) on 16–18 gauge to 3mm thick AISI 304 and 316L stainless steel. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in orbital and manual TIG processes, with a focus on zero-defect, full-penetration welds that meet sanitary and aesthetic standards for commercial food equipment. This role requires mastery in weld joint preparation, purge techniques for backside oxidation control, and post-weld finishing to support cleanroom-level surface integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-integrity TIG (GTAW) welding on thin to medium-gauge austenitic stainless steel (304/316/L) using AC/DC inverter-based power sources
- Execute square butt, edge, and lap joints with precise heat input control to minimize warping and HAZ sensitization
- Implement argon back-purging on closed weld joints (e.g., sink basins, drain channels) to prevent oxidation and intergranular corrosion
- Conduct root pass welding with full penetration and minimal undercut, followed by controlled fill and cap passes
- Prepare joints using precision grinding and beveling (manual and tool-assisted) to ensure optimal fit-up and weld fusion
- Interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols (AWS A2.4), and GD&T tolerances for complex assemblies
- Perform in-process weld inspection using visual and dimensional checks; identify and correct defects such as micro-cracking, lack of fusion, or sugaring
- Collaborate with CNC and sheet metal teams to ensure weldability of laser-cut and formed components
- Maintain welding procedure specifications (WPS) and adhere to AWS D1.6: Structural Welding Code – Stainless Steel standards
- Operate and maintain TIG torches, foot amperage controls, purge monitors, and orbital welding systems (if applicable)
- Support weld procedure qualification (WPQR) and participate in periodic welder certification testing
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills:
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on TIG welding experience on food-grade or sanitary stainless steel
- Mastery of DCEN TIG process for thin sheet (16–22 gauge) and AC TIG for thicker sections where needed
- Demonstrated ability to produce clean, spatter-free, oxide-controlled welds with smooth rippling and uniform bead profiles
- Experience with weld purging techniques using inflatable dams and oxygen sensors (
50 ppm O₂)
- Familiarity with weld decay prevention, including low heat input strategies and post-weld cleaning (pickling/passivation awareness)
- Proficiency in weld joint fit-up, fixturing, and distortion control using clamps and thermal management
- Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, and limited overhead positions (1G, 2G, 3G)
- Strong understanding of metallurgical properties of 300-series stainless steels, including sensitization risks and intergranular corrosion
- AWS-CWI or certified welder credentials (e.g., AWS D1.6, ASME Section IX) strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of stainless steel surface finishes (No. 4, BA, 2B) and impact of welding on final appearancePreferred Experience:
- Prior work in sanitary fabrication, commercial kitchen equipment, or pharmaceutical-grade stainless systems
- Experience with orbital TIG welding systems (e.g., ARC Machines, Swagelok)
- Basic skills in MIG (GMAW) for non-critical structural tack-ups or thicker supports
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or HACCP compliance in manufacturing environmentsHow to Apply:
Qualified candidates must submit:
- Resume detailing welding experience and certifications
- Cover letter specifying types of stainless steel projects completed and preferred welding parameters (amps, gas mix, travel speed, etc.)
- Photos or portfolio of weld samples (close-ups of root, fill, and finished passes on stainless steel)
- Copies of welder certifications (if available)

Application Deadline: November 2025
We are looking for a true craftsperson—someone who treats every weld as a precision joint and understands that in food-grade fabrication, there’s no room for compromise.
