Job Type: Full TimePosition OverviewAs Engineering and Design Director, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for all engineering disciplines on the Qiddiya development-one of Saudi Arabia's largest and most visionary projects. You will manage large technical teams, oversee standards and resource planning, resolve cross-functional design issues, and ensure that all work aligns with project goals, quality requirements, and contractual obligations.What You'll Do
- Direct all engineering and design functions on the project, including civil, structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines
- Oversee discipline staffing plans, forecast reports, and performance metrics to ensure high productivity and quality
- Manage technical compliance, design standards, and department manuals while driving continuous improvement
- Lead hiring, orientation, performance evaluations, and mentoring for engineers, designers, and support staff
- Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges
- Supervise salary planning, budget control, and staff development across the engineering department
- Serve as a technical consultant during pre-contract phases, providing expertise for proposals and presentations
- Promote Parsons' Quality Improvement Program and lead internal engineering committees for process optimization
- Engage with clients, government authorities, and external partners to ensure regulatory alignment and design integrity
- Monitor project-wide engineering performance, ensuring timelines, design intent, and budget compliance are met
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (civil, structural, or relevant field); Master's degree preferred
- At least 20 years of professional engineering experience, including significant leadership of large, multi-discipline design teams
- Previous experience on giga-projects or programs exceeding $250 million in construction value
- Strong command of engineering software and BIM technologies used in large infrastructure design
- Deep understanding of international codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks
- Proven ability to manage complex technical issues, staffing challenges, and interdepartmental coordination
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at senior leadership level
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or chartered status is highly desirable
