Job Purpose:To ensure the continuous and efficient operation of all electrical and mechanical infrastructure within the data centre. The role involves monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response to support mission-critical systems in a high-availability environment.Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAH units, and BMS.
Respond to alarms and faults, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions to restore normal operations.
Execute and verify preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as per SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs.
Conduct site inspections, walk-throughs, and BMS monitoring to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Supervise and coordinate with vendors and contractors during major maintenance or installation activities.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially when working with energized equipment.
Participate in testing and commissioning of new systems and upgrades.
Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within the facility.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 35 years of experience in data centre or critical infrastructure environments.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including MV/LV electrical systems, chillers, pumps, and fuel systems.
Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier standards and TIA-942-B.
Proficiency in BMS and CAFM systems.
Experience with LOTO procedures, emergency shutdowns, and redundancy management.
Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
Willingness to work in shifts and be on-call for emergencies.
Preferred Skills:
CAD/Revit proficiency for reviewing and updating technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC).
