Job Description:Job SummaryThe Director of Assets & Facilities Management is responsible for the strategic leadership, planning, and oversight of all asset and facility management activities across the Transport Authority's infrastructure, including metro, bus, micromobility, Cable cars and associated support assets including depots, stations, buildings and administrative facilities. The role ensures that all physical assets deliver maximum lifecycle value, meet operational requirements, comply with safety and regulatory standards, and support the Transport Business Units customer service and operational service delivery objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Planning
  • Develop and implement the Transport Business Units Asset & Facilities Management Strategy aligned with corporate objectives, safety standards, and sustainability goals.
  • Lead the creation and continuous improvement of the Asset Management Plan (AMP) in line with ISO 55000 standards.
· Lead the creation and continuous improvement of the Facilities Management Plan (AMP) in line with ISO 41000 standards.
  • Oversee long-term capital planning and asset lifecycle forecasting to optimize performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Operations & Maintenance Management
  • Contribute to the efficient maintenance of all Assets and facilities rolling stock, stations, depots, control centers, offices, and associated infrastructure.
  • Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and service disruption.
  • Implement robust facilities management services including cleaning, security, waste management, and utilities.
Asset Performance & Compliance
  • Establish asset performance KPIs and monitoring frameworks to ensure optimal availability, reliability, and condition.
  • Ensure all facilities and assets comply with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Implement risk-based inspection, maintenance, and renewal processes to mitigate operational risks.
  • Monitor and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) with clear incentives and penalties.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through innovation, energy efficiency, and asset optimization.
Innovation & Sustainability
  • Drive adoption of smart asset management systems, IoT monitoring, and digital twins for enhanced decision-making.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency, green building standards, and reduced carbon footprint.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of asset engineers, facilities managers, and support staff.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Projects, and Finance to align asset strategies with service delivery goals.
  • Provide reports and recommendations to the executive leadership and board.
Requirements:Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Asset Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in asset and facilities management within transport, infrastructure, or similar industries, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in implementing asset management systems (e.g., Maximo, Infor, SAP EAM) and ISO 55000 practices.
  • Strong understanding of safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multimillion-dollar budgets and complex contracts.
Desirable:
  • Master's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMA, MRICS, PMP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in rail, metro, or large public transport systems.
