A. Role SummaryMechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site mechanical works, ensuring activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Oversees daily site operations, manages mechanical work crews, and ensures alignment with the project schedule and budget. Acts as the key link between site staff, subcontractors, and the MEP Manager to resolve technical and operational issues promptly.B. Major Duties and TasksPhase Core Duties
Project Setup Review mechanical shop drawings and site layouts to plan manpower, equipment, and material requirements. Ensure all materials and tools are available before work starts. Coordinate with the procurement team for delivery schedules.
Engineering & Procurement Verify that delivered materials meet specifications and are stored properly. Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery and quality compliance. Assist in reviewing method statements and work procedures.
Construction & Installation Supervise site crews in the installation of HVAC systems, plumbing and drainage networks, firefighting systems, and other mechanical works. Ensure tasks are performed according to approved drawings and quality standards. Monitor daily progress, resolve site issues, and report any delays or risks to the MEP ManagerCommissioning & Handover Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning works for all mechanical systems. Coordinate with testing teams to ensure all systems function as intended. Ensure all punch list items are completed before handover.Continuous Improvement • Monitor work processes to identify areas for productivity and quality improvement.
  • Address recurring issues by implementing corrective actions.
  • Share lessons learned with the site team to avoid repeated mistakes.
  • Encourage a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning among site personnel.
C. Authority & Interfaces
  • Reporting to : MEP Manager Mechanical engineer
  • Direct reports: Mechanical foremen, technicians, and helpers
  • Decision Rights: Allocate tasks to site crews, approve completed work after inspection, request rework for non-compliance, and escalate technical issues to the MEP Manager.
D. Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or related field.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in mechanical works within construction or infrastructure projects, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Good knowledge of relevant international standards and codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; basic AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
