The role is therefore extremely high profile and involves interfacing with other departments and organisation such as Supply, Workshops, Quality, Product Safety, MODSAP etc. Work involves a balance between leading the resolution of complex Engineering issues and responsibility for team management including oversight of applicable rules and regulations. Activities therefore vary on a day-to-day basis.JOB ACCOUNTABILITIESResponsible for the rectification of Tornado aircraft assigned to the by the relevant Maintenance Superintendent ensuring that aircraft are available to deliver the organisations commitments through the agreed KPIs.First Stage/Mandatory and Independent certification of completed tasks carried out by the Maintenance Team Technicians when required to do so, including Red-X clearance.Ensures work is carried out in accordance with the standards and procedures detailed within the MOE.Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Tornado Maintenance, training and manpower. Ensures strict tool control is carried out in accordance with tool control procedures.Planning shift patterns, ensuring workforce is utilised effectively.Managing sickness and absence in accordance with local policy.Managing spare part requirements using the Gold ESP logistics system and IMS.Act as continuous improvement leader.RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATIONEssentialHave extensive experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR consistent experience on same aircraft type.A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, OR relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required.Holds 2nd Signature and Red-X authority.Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of maintenance personnel.Understand and use Maintenance GOLD system and IMS.DesirableBe fully conversant with the interpretation of technical diagrams and documentation.Must be familiar with the requirements of the Pt. 145 regulations and an understanding of the Pt M organisation.Post holder must be HF trained.Ability to tow Tornado aircraft and ground component and supervise towing team.EXPATRIATE EMPLOYEE BENEFITSIn return for the required high levels of commitment and hard work you will receive a competitive salary, rent free accommodation and access to free recreation facilities, all available within Company secured accommodation.
