- Provide direction & guidance based on technical feedback from Engineering and Maintenance on training required for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and test activities.
- Provide training support & guidance for the Operations & Maintenance teams during the commissioning & startup of the facility. Maintain accurate document control and monitor training initiatives, documenting training activities for each of the Operations staff.
- Develop training curriculum with periodic testing for the Operations & Maintenance staff to track progression, identify gaps, to ensure personnel are prepared to operate the facility in a timely manner.
- Develop advanced training material for the senior operators focusing on safety and efficiency of the process.
- Ensure the safety of all operations personnel by utilizing the BHIG Basic Safety Practice program, which includes Safety Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space, etc. The position trains Operations & Maintenance personnel with assistance from the HSSE team in the planning, organizing, auditing, and follow-up, to build the Air Products safety culture into the BHIG.
- Establish & deliver a training program for the HYCO Operations & Maintenance teams while supporting the commissioning activities.
- Ensure Air Products and BHIG standards, and global best practices for EH&S, productivity, reliability, quality, and overall customer services are delivered as part of the training program.
- Provide guidance to the HYCO operating & maintenance teams through on the job training to ensure the HYCO is operated safely, efficiently and in compliance with contractual requirements & on-stream guarantees.
- Support & maintain close working relationships with engineering and maintenance personnel to continuously monitor & evaluate training packages, enhancing when required.
- Provide operations support and participate in investigations and Root Cause Analysis in order to identify & implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Own the operations procedures and train on new procedures as they are developed through the Management of Change Process.
- Onboard new Operators and Maintenance personnel and lead them through the training program, monitoring performance and closing the gaps.
- Act as a Liaison with local technical schools, assisting in developing programs for students sponsored by BHIG in the HYCO technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical Process Operations, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a 2-year technical school certificate.
- Certified Training Certificate Required.
- Experience in process plant operation, demonstrated HYCO knowledge, at least 15+ years HYCO operations experience, with
- Demonstrated leadership and proven interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
- Knowledgeable in the coordination of operations and maintenance personnel, communicating the requirements of safe and reliable plant operations via classroom and hands on training.
- Good leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively throughout all levels within the organization and externally.
- Promotes a ‘one team’ environment.
- Ability to communicate and train at all levels on a daily basis.
- Proficiency in English speaking and writing.
- Knowledge and understanding of local environmental and health and safety requirements
