Position Objectives:The Electromechanical Design Engineer's main role will be to produce design calculations accompanied by drawings and layouts. The engineer shall ensure full compliance with followed codes in Telecom Infrastructure and that all produced designs are in-line with the client's specifications, standards, and methods.Job Description & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage electrical and mechanical design content and coordinate with other team members to produce the final product/document.
  • Translate telecom service orders into EM engineering requirements.
  • Prepare electrical (AC & DC) and mechanical (HVAC) design calculations and give a final recommendation on the do-ability of the scope.
  • Prepare design drawings on Auto-CAD.
  • Prepare site-specific design whenever required (equipment room, etc.).
  • Lead necessary coordination with all stakeholders, resolving different issues that may result in delays or setbacks in project progress.
  • Assist other team members whenever requested by the line manager, with overall department targets as the goal to achieve.
  • Review and approve electrical and mechanical design documents, whether site-specific, new site, or even generic.
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical design issues and implement corrective actions to prevent construction delays.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, preventing design errors, material failures, and compliance breaches.
  • Produce final design attributes, including but not limited to total load in Watts, CAPEX, etc.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience with a solid understanding of Telecommunications Industry standards, including IEEE.
  • Proven knowledge in DC Power Designs and Specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective coordination abilities.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Proficient in using Auto-CAD.
  • Proficient in using Excel & other MS applications.
  • The English Language is mandatory to know, both speaking and writing.
  • An MBA would be a plus.
