- Lead the overall HSW vision and strategy for the programme, ensuring alignment with Mace’s global HSW standards and client expectations.
- Champion a proactive, behaviour based safety culture, embedding best practice across multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners.
- Provide leadership and oversight to site based HSW teams, ensuring robust assurance, governance, and reporting across the programme.
- Drive continuous improvement, identifying risks early, delivering targeted interventions, and implementing innovative safety solutions suitable for a remote environment.
- Engage directly with senior stakeholders, including client leadership, contractors, and project leadership teams, influencing decision making and ensuring hazards are effectively managed.
- Lead incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis, lessons learned, and corrective actions are implemented swiftly and effectively.
- Support workforce wellbeing initiatives, ensuring remote location challenges such as fatigue, isolation, heat, logistics, and extreme environments are managed comprehensively.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure safety is embedded in planning, design, logistics, and execution.
- Drive change through communication, engagement, and innovation, embedding continuous improvement.
- Translate business strategy into local plans, delivering to time, quality, and budget.
- Professional HSW qualifications (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent; Chartered status desirable).
- Experience of International and Middle East, large scale construction/infrastructure programs.
- Proven expertise in risk, assurance, and audit strategies within major organisations.
- Strong leadership experience managing teams, competency assessment, and career development.
- Deep knowledge of HSW legislation, sustainability, and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Significant senior leadership experience in HSW on major construction or infrastructure programmes.
- A proven ability to lead safety in remote, logistically complex, or high risk environments.
- Strong knowledge of international HSW standards (ISO 45001) and major project governance.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership capabilities.
- The confidence to challenge, influence, and inspire teams at all levels.
