- Enterprise Data Strategy: Define and execute a long-term data architecture vision aligned with enterprise priorities and compliance requirements.
- Data Lake & Lakehouse Architecture: Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise data lake/lakehouse platforms, whether on-premises, cloud, or hybrid.
- Architectural Standards: Establish and enforce organization-wide data architecture standards, including modeling and integration frameworks.
- ETL/ELT Pipelines: Direct the development of scalable batch and streaming pipelines to handle large, complex data volumes.
- Data Governance & Compliance: Implement robust data governance, lineage tracking, and metadata frameworks to ensure quality and compliance (e.g., GDPR, NDMO).
- Platform Performance: Continuously optimize platform scalability, performance, and cost efficiency across on-premises or cloud environments.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineering teams, instilling best practices and ensuring adherence to architecture standards.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and introduce emerging tools and methodologies suitable for enterprise-scale data modernization initiatives.
- 10+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or enterprise data platform roles.
- Proven track record in leading enterprise-scale data platform implementations (on-premises or cloud).
- Demonstrated expertise in data lake and lakehouse architectures (on-premises, hybrid, or cloud).
- Strong experience driving enterprise-wide data standardization and modernization initiatives.
- Proficiency with ETL/ELT tools (Airflow, dbt, Glue) and big data ecosystems (Spark, Kafka, Delta Lake, Iceberg).
- Deep knowledge of data governance and metadata tools (Collibra, Alation, Apache Atlas).
- Executive-level leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to define architecture vision and enforce standards across multiple teams and domains.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and executive stakeholders.
