Job description:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine pipe layouts, sizes, and configurations.
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and assemble pipes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Select and prepare appropriate pipe materials, fittings, and valves for installation.
- Install and secure pipes in position by using brackets, clamps, welding, or other methods.
- Ensure proper alignment of pipes and maintain accurate levels and grades.
- Perform calculations to determine pipe dimensions, angles, and offsets.
- Conduct pressure tests to identify and repair leaks in piping systems.
- Install and connect pipe supports and hangers to ensure stable and secure piping systems.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as welders and plumbers, to complete projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment
Requirements:
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and project stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter, working with various pipe sizes, including threaded and welded pipes
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications related to pipe installation
- Strong knowledge of different pipe materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and PVC
- Ability to measure, cut, thread, groove, and bend pipes using appropriate tools and equipment
- Experience in both threaded and welded pipe installations
- Familiarity with different pipe joining methods, including threading, welding, and grooving
- Understanding of pipe supports, hangers, and other components used in piping systems
- Knowledge of pipe fitting codes, standards, and industry best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot pipe system issues
- English-fluent
