- Provide regular progress reports and elevate issues to the Authority.
- Manage the day-to-day operational & contract aspects of projects.
- Be responsible for providing feedback regarding project progress, deviations, changes and ensuring that the projects are delivered to Ashghal Standards
- Handover the site (possession of site), Pre-contract meeting (kick-off), and ROs and approvals officially to the Consultant
- Monitor (after liaising with traffic unit) traffic diversions and ensure it is effective and safe.
- Ensure that a quality control, safety plan compliance with QCS & Ashghal
- Specify and coordinate with Quality Department
- Review deliverables across projects, minimizes exposure and risk.
- Manage scope and achieve goals set for projects, confront issues quickly.
- Ensure timely hand-over (delivery) of project.
- Certify progress of claims submitted by the consultants and contractors.
- Prepare and submit reports to senior management on work progress status.
- Inspect construction sites on a periodical basis to ensure conformance to design specifications and adherence to quality.
- Interpret, explain and enforce regulations and policies, confer with construction regarding possible changes to plans and problem resolution.
- Ensure that consultants and contractors produce regular reports on damages, accidents, delays, bad weather or emergencies.
- Encourage contractors to observe applicable safety rules and regulations; Identifies corrective action and agrees with consultants and contractors.
- Monitor and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.
- Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.
- Be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.
- Lead team, project progress, technical and coordination meetings.
- Manage and review performance of various consultants and contractors in terms of engineering.
- Review and recommend upon various designs throughout the lifetime of a project.
- Apply international design standards across various projects.
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- 15 years post graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes; preference will be given to drainage related experience
- Experience in working with and within government agencies or client’s side generally at a senior level
- Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects
- In-depth knowledge of engineering procedures
- Strong experience in designing storm water drainage networks, and flood protection measures
- Experience in construction and project management of drainage projects involving Wastewater and/or Groundwater Drainage Networks, Sewerage Pumping Stations & Rising Mains
- Demonstrable experience dealing with third party issues, the Authority’s customers, statutory undertakers, and other impacted stakeholders, in compliance with requirements.
- Experience in managing all aspects of design & build contracts.
