- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform repairs and maintenance duties on a wide variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment such as walk-in freezers, industrial-sized steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, washers, ovens, dryers, dishwashers, and water coolers.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of kitchen equipment and prevent potential issues.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, such as leaks, malfunctions, and inefficiencies, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Installation: Install new kitchen equipment and ensure proper settings on wiring controls. Replace defective or old parts as needed.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and hotel policies. Swiftly correct unsafe conditions in the workplace and report any non-correctable conditions to the supervisor.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance workers, hotel staff, and management to address maintenance needs and ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Customer Service: Interact courteously with guests and staff, addressing kitchen equipment-related concerns and providing excellent customer service.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a technical or trade school program in kitchen equipment maintenance is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as a kitchen technician, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy equipment
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in kitchen equipment maintenance or refrigeration.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to kitchen equipment maintenance.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service skills to address guest concerns and ensure a positive guest experience.
