- Receive raw materials, spare parts, chemicals, and other supplies used in steel casting production, ensuring they are properly documented.
- Verify the quality and quantity of materials upon receipt, ensuring no discrepancies with purchase orders.
- Organize materials in storage according to their type, size, and weight, optimizing available space in the warehouse.
- Ensure that steel billets, alloys, and casting supplies are stored safely to avoid damage or contamination.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels for raw materials, consumables, and finished products.
- Perform regular stock checks and stock reconciliation to ensure that the inventory system is accurate and up-to-date.
- Issue materials to production based on requisitions and track material usage to prevent shortages.
- Monitor shelf life of materials, including chemicals and coatings, and ensure that they are used or replaced in a timely manner.
- Report and manage low stock levels and coordinate with the procurement team for replenishments.
- Issue materials to production and other departments as per internal requisitions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Ensure all materials are properly labeled, including hazardous materials, and comply with safety standards during transportation.
- Maintain a proper log of all issued materials and track usage against production schedules.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials, ensuring minimal handling of heavy castings and steel components.
- Follow safety protocols for the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials such as chemicals, lubricants, and alloys used in the casting process.
- Ensure that storage areas are organized and free of hazards to prevent accidents.
- Maintain fire and emergency safety equipment in the store and ensure employees are trained on safety procedures.
- Ensure that proper signage and labeling are in place for hazardous substances, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in planning for material replenishment based on production forecasts and historical usage data.
- Work closely with procurement to ensure the timely arrival of required materials to avoid delays in production.
- Monitor the condition of stored materials and notify relevant teams if they need to be replaced or disposed of due to damage or expiration.
- Maintain accurate records for all incoming and outgoing materials, including deliveries, returns, and adjustments.
- Ensure all materials are properly tagged and tracked using the companyβs inventory management system (ERP).
- Assist in audits and stocktaking processes, ensuring that all materials are accounted for and discrepan
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics, inventory management, or supply chain are a plus.
- 2β3 years of experience in warehouse or storekeeping roles, ideally in a steel foundry or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP, SAP, or similar).
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Good understanding of health and safety standards in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Cies are promptly addressed.
