We are looking for an experienced and proactive HSE Officer / Safety Engineer to lead and oversee all Health, Safety, and Environmental operations across marine construction sites. This role is critical to ensuring strict compliance with local regulations, international safety standards, and marine environmental protocols, particularly within large-scale land reclamation and dredging projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage project-specific HSE plans, risk assessments, and emergency response procedures.
- Conduct regular site safety audits, hazard identification, and toolbox talks to maintain a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with marine safety regulations including vessel operations, diving safety, and dredging hazards.
- Monitor and enforce PPE usage, lifting operations, and environmental controls across land and marine interfaces.
- Prepare incident/accident investigations, safety reports, and statistics for internal and client reporting.
- Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and authorities to ensure alignment with all HSE requirements.
- Support and contribute to the company’s ESG and sustainability initiatives as part of environmental compliance.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a full-time HSE role within marine construction or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Recognized certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in marine or port construction safety, including dredging and reclamation.
- Sound knowledge of local labor and safety regulations, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with digital safety systems and compliance tools is a plus.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic is an advantage.
