Woodston Personnel are seeking an experienced Consultant in Adult Intensive Care Medicine to join our client’s hospital in Saudi Arabia. The Consultant is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill adults requiring advanced organ support. The role involves clinical leadership within the ICU, management of complex and life-threatening conditions, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Consultant will also contribute to service development, education, research, and governance within the critical care service.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of critically ill adult patients requiring intensive care.Lead daily ward rounds, coordinate care plans, and ensure timely interventions.Deliver advanced organ support, including mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, and hemodynamic monitoring.Respond to emergency situations, including cardiac arrest and rapid deterioration across the hospital.Support outreach/critical care follow-up services where applicable.Provide clinical leadership within the ICU, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based care.Supervise and support junior medical staff, nurses, and allied health professionals.Contribute to ICU rota planning, service delivery, and resource management.Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Work closely with anesthesiology, emergency medicine, surgery, and specialty teams.Communicate effectively with patients’ families, providing updates and supporting decision-making.Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case discussions.Provide teaching and mentorship to junior doctors, nursing staff, and medical students.Contribute to formal education programs, simulation training, and continuous professional development.Participate in clinical audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives within critical care.Support the implementation of national and international ICU guidelines and protocols.Contribute to morbidity and mortality reviews and clinical governance activities.Ensure adherence to clinical governance frameworks, policies, and regulatory standards.Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.Engage in risk management, incident reporting, and service evaluation.Full time contracts with excellent renumeration and benefits availablePlease apply with your CV to register your interest in this role.MBBS or equivalent medical qualificationUS Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / SpainMust have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experienceEligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
