- Review and approve Traffic Management Plans (TMP), Detour Plans, and Method Statements submitted by contractors.
- Ensure traffic arrangements comply with project specifications, international standards, and local traffic authority requirements.
- Coordinate traffic staging with construction sequencing for roads, bridges, and tunnel works.
- Manage traffic diversions, lane closures, temporary road alignments, and access arrangements for road and bridge construction.
- Review traffic control measures at tunnel portals, approaches, and within tunnel influence zones.
- Ensure safe pedestrian access, public transport continuity, and emergency vehicle movement at all times.
- Ensure implementation of appropriate traffic signage, pavement markings, barriers, lighting, and safety devices.
- Conduct traffic risk assessments and safety audits for temporary traffic arrangements.
- Monitor compliance with approved TMPs and initiate corrective actions where required.
- Liaise with traffic police, transport authorities, municipalities, civil defense, and emergency services.
- Support submission, approval, and revision of traffic and detour plans.
- Attend coordination meetings and site inspections with stakeholders.
- Supervise on-site implementation of approved traffic and detour plans.
- Monitor traffic flow, congestion, and safety performance during construction.
- Review non-conformance reports (NCRs) related to traffic management and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate with communication teams on public notifications, signage, and awareness campaigns related to detours.
- Ensure traffic arrangements minimize inconvenience and maintain public safety.
- Maintain records of approved TMPs, detour layouts, inspections, and authority approvals.
- Prepare periodic reports on traffic performance, incidents, risks, and mitigation measures.
- Support audits, claims reviews, and client reporting requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Transportation / Traffic Engineering or related discipline.
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering and traffic management for major infrastructure projects.
- Proven PMC or consultancy experience on roads, bridges, and tunnel projects.
- Strong experience in traffic detours, staging, and temporary traffic control systems.
- Familiarity with traffic safety standards, manuals, and authority requirements.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and reporting skills.
