- Initiates or participates in quality improvement activities to enhance nutrition care that is safe and effective.
- Highlights Food-Drug interaction and document to Clinical staff & in the Medical chart.
- Participates in continuous learning to update knowledge of current developments in clinical nutrition continuing education requirements, as per Saudi Commission for Health Specialties requirements.
- Participates in self and others’ education, training, and development, as applicable.
- Calculates patients’ Nutritional needs to determine the optimal Nutritional Supplement for both oral and tube feeding.
- Using Standards of Practice, evaluates nutrition status of patients and prescribes, implements, evaluates (initial and ongoing), and documents an appropriate nutritional care plan in a timely manner.
- Contributes to an inter-disciplinary approach to patient care. Attends rounds and team conferences to exchange information related to patient care and discharge planning.
- Educates patients and family members on appropriate diet modification and provides educational materials accordingly.
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition is required.
- Experience Required: One (1) year of related experience with Master’s or three (3) years with Bachelor’s Degree.
- Licensing:
- Valid license from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children and families
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and nutrition assessment tools
