- Play the leading and pivotal role in supporting the Client / Project executives and leaders in monitoring and controlling the performance of contracted services to ensure services are effective, meet statutory requirements and deliver the desired outcomes.
- Develop and implement comprehensive commercial contracts management, risk management, claims resolution strategies, policies, and procedures to support the client's objectives and mitigate risks on the construction project.
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including contract administration, compliance monitoring, and performance evaluation, to ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions, deliverables, and timelines.
- Provide strategic guidance and expert advice to the client on commercial contracts management, claims resolution, and dispute avoidance strategies, based on industry best practices and legal standards.
- Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies and plans to support the objectives of the construction project, including but not limited to cost control and risk management.
- Provide leadership to the commercial team to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Manage all assigned commercial aspects of the project
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for the project.
- Oversee the review and analyze project contracts, agreements, and proposals to identify potential risks, liabilities, and opportunities for improvement, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and optimize terms and conditions.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project requirements and specifications.
- Monitor and analyze project financial performance, including revenue, costs, and profitability, and develop strategies to address variances and optimize project outcomes.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms and conditions, maximize value for money, and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize material sourcing, purchasing, and delivery processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to commercial activities, contracts, procurement, and risk management.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- MRICS, RICS or equivalent
- Minimum of 25 years of experience in commercial leadership roles in the construction industry, with minimum 5yrs+ experience in GCC (KSA experience ideally).
- Proven track record of delivering commercial excellence on large-scale construction projects, with particular emphasis on PMO/PMC large projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and risk management principles, with experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts and agreements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, cost estimation, and budget management, with the ability to develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
