  • Participate in positioning of an offshore vessel using above and underwater systems under the guidance of Senior Personnel. Identify the various positioning methods (GPS, DGPS, RTK, USBL) of positioning surface and sub-surface vessels/vehicles offshore.
  • Participate in operating various hydrographic survey equipment under the guidance of Senior Personnel.
  • Understand the various hydrographic data sets impacting on the preparation of an offshore survey, including historical information. Under guidance, performs all types of hydrographic surveys aboard survey vessels and small boats.
  • Under the supervision of Senior Personnel conducts oceanographic field investigations involving installation, calibration and recovery of tide gauges, current meters, CTD probes for Temperature and salinity measurement and thus Sound Speed profile preparation. Understand the various components and interaction of the multiple observations essential for understanding the physical oceanographic structure and its sediments.
