Mechanical Procurement Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the procurement process for mechanical materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure optimal pricing, quality, and contract terms.
Review and approve purchase orders, contracts, and material submittals in alignment with project requirements.
Ensure all mechanical materials and equipment comply with international standards and local regulations.
Coordinate with engineering, construction, and finance teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and budgets.
Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and logistics to avoid delays and maintain efficiency.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and cost-saving opportunities for mechanical systems.
Handle claims, contract variations, and supplier disputes when necessary.
Prepare and submit procurement reports, cost analyses, and risk assessments to management.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 8–10 years in mechanical procurement, preferably in large-scale construction or MEP projects.
Certifications: Procurement or supply chain management certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems, as well as mechanical equipment procurement.
Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office.
Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
Analytical Thinking: Strong capability in cost analysis, budget control, and risk mitigation.
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills in Arabic and English (Preferred).
