Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and periodic testing of all type of field instruments, including safety instrumented loops, shutdown systems, and protective relays.
- Conduct functional testing of field instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, valves, logic solvers) etc..
- Interpret P&IDs, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and IPF registers to plan and execute inspection activities.
- Document test results, deviations, and corrective actions in line with company and international standards.
- Troubleshoot faults in loops, including signal verification, wiring checks, and system diagnostics.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and turnaround (TA) activities related to safety systems.
- Ensure compliance with refinery HSE policies and safe work practices during all inspection and testing.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety departments to minimize downtime during testing.
- Minimum Diploma or Technical Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Control Systems
- Minimum 5 years’ experience (maintenance) in refinery, petrochemical, or oil & gas industry instrumentation,
- Skilled in calibration, loop testing, proof testing, and troubleshooting of field instrumentation (pressure, flow, level, temperature transmitters; shutdown valves; relays).
- Familiar with hazardous area equipment (Ex, IS, flameproof) inspection and certification.
- Proficiency in MS Office for documentation and work order management
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine calibration, verification, and validation of online analyzers and quality instruments (e.g., GCs, sulfur analyzers, density/viscosity meters).
- Support installation, commissioning, and loop checks.
- Troubleshoot analyzer faults, sample handling systems, and interfaces with DCS/ESD.
- Inspect and maintain sample conditioning systems (filters, chillers, regulators, fast loops).
- Execute analyzer performance testing and accuracy checks against laboratory reference methods.
- Ensure analyzers comply with custody transfer, environmental, and product quality requirements.
- Document all calibration, testing, and maintenance activities in the System
- Follow HSE and refinery safety policies, ensuring safe work practices in analyzer shelters and hazardous areas.
- Provide technical support during turnarounds, shutdowns, and regulatory audits.
- Coordinate with Operations and Laboratory for quality dispute resolution.
- Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Analytical Technology.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in refinery, petrochemical, or oil & gas QMI/analyzer systems.
- Hands-on experience with gas chromatographs, sulfur/nitrogen analyzers, O₂/H₂S analyzers, density/viscosity meters, and other physical property analyzers.
- Knowledge of ASTM/ISO standards for product quality verification.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in sample handling systems and conditioning units.
- Familiarity with hazardous area equipment and analyzer shelters.
- Experience in CMMS (SAP/Maximo) for work order management and reporting.
