To apply, please fill the below link: -A GIS / Switchgear Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of electrical switchgear and related equipment through maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This includes performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures or alarms. They also ensure compliance with safety regulations and may assist with commissioning new installations.
Key Responsibilities:

Preventive Maintenance:

Conducting regular maintenance activities on switchgear, transformers, and other electrical equipment to prevent failures and ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshooting and Repair:

Diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical and mechanical systems related to switchgear, including circuit breakers, relays, and other components.

Inspections and Testing:

Performing inspections and tests on switchgear and related equipment to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.

Safety Compliance:

Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures, including proper lockout/tagout procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Documentation:

Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, test results, and equipment performance.

Commissioning:

Assisting with the commissioning of new switchgear and related equipment to ensure proper installation and operation.

Customer Support:

Providing technical support and guidance to customers regarding switchgear operations and maintenance.
Minimum Requirements:

You must have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
You should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably in the utility, oil and gas industry.
Experience with specific types of switchgear, such as Siemens, ABB, Schnider...etc.
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and practices related to utilities, oil and gas facilities is essential.
Experience in designing electrical systems and equipment for oil and gas projects is also required.
Familiarity with international standards such as IEEE, IEC.
