Job Purpose:The Senior Global Advocacy Specialist reports to the Associate Manager, Global Advocacy. He/She will support to channelize Bank's efforts in IsDB's positioning with the MDBs, at international fora like the G20, UN Agencies, Global Funds and relevant Philanthropic, Civil Society and Donor Organizations. The Senior Specialist will assist in maintaining relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in strengthening the Bank's operations. As assigned by the Associate Manager, he/she will coordinate the efforts towards building the image of the Bank in contributing to the global development agenda as well as strengthening the existing Bank's resource mobilization efforts.Key Accountabilities:Strategic Actions and DeliveryTo support in the preparation of a clear strategic engagement action plan for strengthening and further developing Bank's global advocacy efforts.Consistently contribute to providing strategic inputs/documentation for effective engagement of the Bank in global forums as well as to introduce measures that enable the Bank to diversify and meet the needs of the MCs.Introduction of innovative practices and methodologies for improving effectiveness of Bank's global advocacy efforts leading to mobilization of resources both on and off-balance sheet.Leverage Bank's global advocacy efforts for supporting in the organization of strategic dialogues with MDBs, partners, international organizations/donors.Operational Planning, Performance Management and ReportingTo support in the development of a system to monitor the progress with regards to Bank's engagement on global advocacy.To support in the preparation of menu of options/services and technical guidance to strengthen the matters related to global advocacy.To support in developing key results targets and performance indicators related to global advocacy.To prepare strategic reports on global advocacy in compliance with the Bank's rules and procedures.Networking, Knowledge Sharing and Coordination with Bank DepartmentsTo support in the preparation of executive information briefs on emerging international development issues/news related to global advocacy matters.To share the latest trends and best practices in the development arena particularly on the global advocacy initiatives across multilateral and bilateral development organizations and recommend improvements / adoption in IsDB.To assist in promoting IsDB activities and programs internally and externally, as and when delegated by the Management.To assist the Associate Manager in formulation of initiatives on the matters pertaining to global advocacy through engagement of the leading industry actors/practitioners.To assist the Associate Manager in leading the coordination and engagement with the various Bank Departments including EOP, Regional Hubs, Communication Departments et al. as needed.General ResponsibilitiesTo act as the focal point and resource center as assigned for matters related to global advocacy in the Bank.To coordinate the engagement, as assigned, with partners and donors to advocate IsDB's contribution to the global development agenda.To support in the coordination for consolidating the global advocacy efforts undertaken at the Bank level including IsDBi and ISFD as per the President's message to work as one-team.To support in the development of comprehensive plan and collaborate with the relevant departments for resource mobilization to support operations in Member and Non-Member Countries.To support in the day-to-day operations of the section and the department, as assigned to achieve the Bank's corporate objectives.To work closely with the Partnerships section as assigned for coordinating Bank's engagement with the various global partners.Academic and Professional Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in development studies, economics, engineering, finance, business administration or related discipline.Minimum 8 years of experience as a development practitioner in operations, strategy, communications for development including management of strategic programs and operations.Master's degree / PhD in relevant field is preferred.Master's degree in relevant field is equivalent to 2 years of experience.PhD in relevant field is equivalent to 4 years of experience.Skills & Necessary Knowledge:Program development and implementationProject managementPolicies and proceduresDevelopment effectivenessResource mobilization and partnership managementDonor relationship managementLanguages:LanguagesEnglish - MandatoryArabic - PreferredFrench - Preferred
