- Monitor and supervise the contractors structural activities on-site, including earthworks, foundations, concrete works, steel structures, and load-bearing systems.
- Review and ensure that construction is carried out as per approved structural drawings, method statements, and material specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to confirm compliance with structural engineering principles and standards.
- Review and comment on shop drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and construction methodologies submitted by the contractor, ensuring they are in line with the design intent.
- Coordinate with the design consultant, when needed, on design clarifications, discrepancies, or modifications.
- Assist the Project Lead and the Client in evaluating the impact of proposed design changes or value engineering options related to structural elements.
- Ensure structural works are executed with proper sequencing, curing, formwork, and concrete placement techniques.
- Monitor the installation and alignment of reinforcements, steel members, precast components, anchors, and embedded items.
- Identify and report any non-conformities or deviations from approved documents, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Coordinate structural requirements and clearances with other engineering disciplines (e.g., MEP, architectural, geotechnical).
- Review structural openings, sleeves, and embedments to ensure alignment with mechanical and electrical installations.
- Proactively resolve site clashes or conflicts that may arise during construction with multi-discipline involvement.
- Track contractors compliance with construction schedules and raise concerns in case of delays or rework in structural works.
- Ensure the contractor adheres to the structural scope of work as defined in the contract documents.
- Support the Project Lead and the Client in the assessment of variations or claims related to structural components.
- Promote and ensure safe execution of all structural work activities in line with project HSE standards and method statements.
- Assist in the snagging and de-snagging process for structural elements during the close-out phase.
- Review and verify as-built drawings for structural works.
- Support the testing and commissioning process for structural components, including façade anchoring, loading decks, etc.
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in structural engineering supervision on large-scale projects.
- In-depth knowledge of international structural codes and standards
- Proven experience with reinforced concrete, post-tensioning, steel structures, deep foundations, and seismic design.
- Strong site management, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts and working under supervision of the Client as Engineer.
