2. Ensure timely and effective implementation of welding inspection activities.
3. Receive work directions and instructions from Inspection Superintendent and report about the progress of his activities.
4. Lead any technical problem resolution emerging from welding at field and shops.
5. Perform technical audit of welding activities performed at site and contractor facilities.
6. Ensure the compliance of welding activities to Company specifications and procedures and international standards.
7. Responsible for continual update of Company standards and develop procedures for welding activities in accordance to latest revision of international standards.
8. Provide welding consultancy and technical assistance for welding activities during normal operation and Turnaround and Shutdown.
9. Manage the contractor welding quality.
10. Ensure welders are experienced and adequately certified.
11. Ensure continual monitoring of welder's performance to meet Company standards requirements.
12. Provide technical recommendations for new facilities and modification involving welding activities by reviewing project proposals and plans from welding point of view to improve design effectiveness and compliance to Company standards.
13. Involve in detailed assessment of failures of static equipment and piping and provide recommendations for weld repair in accordance with applicable codes and best engineering practices in order to ensure equipment fitness for service within stipulated duration and safe operation.
14. Review and approve the Material Test Certificates of new material for the required specifications, chemical & Mechanical properties, weldability, testing and heat treatment.
15. Review of technical queries, deviation requests, request for NDT in-lieu raised for static equipment and piping and recommend appropriate alternative requirements/conditions.
16. Perform surveillance inspection by frequent visits/audit to site and shops to ensure quality of welding activities and to solve welding related issues.
17. Develop, implement and coordinate special welding repairs for Company asset.
18. Lead investigation for any welding related failures and provide engineering solutions.
19. Develop welding repair procedures to ensure that new, modified and repaired equipment meet Company and international standards.
20. Lead and manage the welding inspectors during Turnaround and Shutdown execution to support Area Inspectors.
21. Company sole responsible for the review and approval of welding and heat treatment documentation and weld testing activities.
22. Involve in the review of Failure Analysis Report.
23. Participate to Root Cause Analysis of failure to provide welding expertise.
24. Review Non Conformity Report to provide corrective action in the field of welding.
25. Accountable for validating and maintaining reports issued from Area Inspectors for weld metal and base metal testing such as ferrite test, Positive Material Identification and hardness test.
26. In a legal dispute to welding activities, support management as required to evaluate and provide result.
27. Support area inspector to define the most appropriate welding repair procedure.
28. Participate in Turnaround and Shutdown activities to support of the Inspection team.
29. Review of any Management Of Change (MOC), waiver or technical query involving welding activities as requested by Inspection Superintendent.
30. Review and approve Inspection & Test Plan of new static equipment and piping.
31. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Inspection Superintendent.
