About the job General Manager (Rig Manufacturing Industry)One of our esteemed clients from the Oil & Gas Industry is seeking a General Manager (Rig Manufacturing background) to be based in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.Job Overview: The General Manager has overall responsibility for maximizing the commerciality of operations within Saudi Arabia whilst ensuring operations are carried out in a safe, effective and trouble-free manner that minimizes risk to personnel and equipment and delivers the expected level of value to the client.Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivers and where possible improves on budgeted results through continuous monitoring of the financial performance of the country unit.
  • Further develops company operations in-country through business development.
  • Ensures contract execution according to country and international rules and legislation.
  • Ensures technical integrity of all company assets according to company procedures.
  • Participates in the wider General Manager global group and within regions to improve company performance.
  • Responsible for Safe, effective, trouble-free operations. Continually assesses and re-evaluates, ensuring work is carried out in a safe manner, within group Worldwide Standards.
  • Ensures security of workforce and assets.
  • Conducts business in line with Companys culture and core values.
  • Agrees financial objectives with Senior Management and is responsible for performance against budget. Co-ordinates and submits annual operating / capital budgets.
  • Collaborates with other General Managers and functional leads to allow for fair and optimal use of personnel by encouraging transfers where appropriate.
  • Ensures key financial, HSE, operational and commercial data is reported as per country and company statutory requirements.
  • Promotes client awareness of company with Business Development Manager and grows the business through existing contracts or new work.
  • Develops and maintains a close working relationship with government bodies, regulators, unions and national companies.
  • Develops and maintains a close working relationship with the client: promotes positive client relations both on a professional and social level. Ensures Companys operating units are operated, maintained and manned in accordance with contracts and at a level that provides client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for success of contract execution, including country specific requirements, and ensuring all support service function activities are carried out in accordance with group worldwide standards and local management system procedures and processes.
  • Ensures that complete reporting is undertaken and that all learning points are brought to the attention of management, client and recorded within the company learning systems. As detailed within Learning, After Action Review and Business Improvement processes.
  • Promotes regular and open communication with all parties involved with the operation and delivery of contract obligations, including: Client Representatives, subcontractors, HSE, , Business Development, Commercial, Human Resources, Services, Global Supply Management, Purchasing, Performance Services and Finance.
  • Ensures that Company Management Systems, Worldwide Standards, Programmes and client interface documents are effectively communicated to all personnel and upheld.
  • Attends and contribute to corporate events and programme initiatives such as the Annual Meeting and Regional Manager meeting.
  • Ensures the production of monthly, routine and adhoc reports (as required) and distribute within the company. E.g. Monthly Performance Reports for the operating unit / country. Ensuring that all contractual performance related KPI are monitored and progress against these is reported.
  • Ensure the delivery of any projects within the operation utilize the company standard project methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with the company policies and procedures relating to Business Ethics - within their business area and where interface exists with other departments / operations / companies. Expediting any concerns to the appropriate person / group within the organization at the earliest opportunity.
Primary Responsibilities:

Safety
  • Be familiar with the Group Safety Policy and take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of themselves and persons likely to be affected by their acts or omissions as required under local legislation.
  • Ensures safe working practices and accident prevention in all areas of authority. Communicates to all employees by means of job supervision, instruction and training.
  • Ensures Crisis Manager and Emergency Response Procedure is in place, and understood. Ensuring that employees are fully trained to deal with such an emergency.
  • Ensure country operations are in line with environmental management systems and minimize the environmental impact of our operations.
  • Promote safe working practices and accident prevention in all areas under your authority and that these are brought to the attention of your operations.
  • Help to ensure that planned safety inspections are carried out on the country operations in accordance with the Group Policy.
  • Follow-up and closeout of remedial details as generated from incident investigations, IRPs and audits.
  • Ensure investigations are carried out on all accidents / incidents as required under the Group SMS.
  • Comply with all Waste Management / Manual Handling / Risk Assessments and other legislation / regulations that are applicable to the operation.
  • Help to ensure that all lifting operations are carried out in accordance with group lifting operations procedures.
  • Help to ensure that operational and other safety drills are held in accordance with the Group Safety Policy and Client requirements, and to participate in the control and co-ordination of any emergency response action or training that may be required.
  • Help to ensure operating units and offices / bases comply with company HSE Management Systems.
Financial
  • Agrees financial objectives for Operations with Senior Management.
  • Monitors cash flow and financial performance against budgets.
  • Prepares and submits annual budget forecasts.
  • Optimise financial and operational performance, particularly the timely completion of incentive operations.
  • Controls the Profit and Loss for companys Services in Saudi Arabia.
  • Maintain oversight and understanding of local taxation regimes and ensures compliance with the same.
Business Development
  • Advises the Head of Business Development/ Head of Commercial of opportunities or enquiries for new business.
  • Actively seeks to grow company business through liaising with future potential clients and group partnerships with existing clients.
  • Represents the company through active partnership in the community.
Client Relations / Performance
  • Continuously monitors the performance of the operating units and strives to improve performance against key metrics (NPT, HSE, Training, quality defects).
  • Ensures client kept informed of improvements through regular reports and presentations.
  • Ensures that the company reporting system and the MOF process are followed by operational teams.
  • Participates in regular Management meetings to review Service Quality.
  • Organizes regular Service Quality Review meetings with the client.
Contract Execution / Commercial
  • Ensures commercial involvement in placement of all contracts and resolution of contractual disputes.
  • Where necessary seeks local legal involvement in contract disputes.
  • Ensure local legal framework understood and complied with.
  • Grow Scope of work and profitability of each contract.
Systems and Processes
  • Implements the company Management Policies and Procedures within the country.
  • Recommends changes for the improvement and reports all matters which affect company Policies & Procedures.
  • Conduct operational, performance, quality and safety audits to ensure compliance with Group and Client standards.
  • Where required, as an Action Authority or Party, close out actions in a timely manner. Facilitating operational and safety processes as required. E.g. MOF, IRP etc.
People
  • Demonstrates companys Core Values and Behavior & Working Relationships when working along side colleagues and clients. Operates ethically and responsibly, showing due concern for human rights, labor standards and environmental stability.
  • Promotes Performance Management in line with company policy: sets objectives for employees and monitors through the Employee Appraisal Performance System, encourages the career development of all employees.
  • Ensures that all employees within their organization structure have sufficient information and knowledge to carry out their job and are adequately trained and experienced for a particular task.
  • Respects culture diversity and expectations in undertaking activities on behalf of the Company.
  • Responsible for management of international expatriate staff in country operations and promotes transfer of personnel between operations where appropriate.
  • Promotes nationalization where appropriate and in line with Company guidelines.
Quality
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Group Management Systems and where applicable, client procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Technical background and understanding of the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Experience of 10+years with Rig Manufacturing background.
  • Fluent spoken and written English & Arabic language skills.
  • An interest beyond oil and gas, and an understanding in the Energy Transition needs of our customers
