- Execute the Biologics Medical Affairs Plan in alignment with guidance from the TA Lead and cross-functional brand teams.
- Deliver scientific exchange with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and decision-makers to support the appropriate use of AstraZeneca’s biologics portfolio.
- Drive the implementation of disease education, Multidisciplinary initiatives and patient identification projects for the current portfolio, while preparing the market for future indications.
- Support the rollout of launch readiness and lifecycle management activities for the assigned biologic therapies.
- Build strong peer-to-peer relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) of the targeted specialties within Saudi Arabia to advance disease area understanding, patient management and inform medical strategy.
- Organize, support, and present in scientific meetings, advisory boards, and symposia as a subject-matter expert in the assigned disease areas.
- Actively contributes to speaker training, CME partnerships, and scientific programs aligned with the biologics’ medical strategy.
- Gather and communicate actionable, scientific insights that inform the KSA local strategy and identify new opportunities for data generation or biologic access improvement.
- Support the planning and operationalization of local studies, biologic registries, and Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) in coordination with the TA Lead, Evidence Generation, and Clinical Operations teams.
- Contribute to the development and review of scientific materials, ensuring accuracy, balance, and compliance with SFDA regulations.
- Disseminate emerging clinical data regarding biologic efficacy and safety to internal and external stakeholders in an ethical and scientifically objective manner.
- Partner closely with Market Access, Health Economics and Payer Evidence, Commercial, and Regulatory teams to ensure scientific and medical integrity in all activities across the KSA.
- Provide evidence-based medical input to hospital formularies, value communication, and payer interactions where appropriate.
- Deliver medical training and scientific support to internal colleagues (e.g., sales, market access, or respiratory specialty teams).
- Ensure all activities comply with AstraZeneca ethical standards, SOPs, and Saudi Arabian local regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain up-to-date training on Ethical Interactions, GPEI, and any other Biologics-specific policies.
- Accurately document medical interactions, adverse event reports, and insights in compliance systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine or pharmacy is required
- Post-graduate master’s degree is an advantage
- 2 or more years of experience in Medical Affairs roles, preferably within Respiratory and Immunology biologics.
- Experience supporting new launches.
- Proven ability to translate complex scientific data into clinical value for specialist physicians.
- Deep understanding of the Saudi Arabian healthcare system, including referral patterns, regulatory authority and access pathways.
- Excellence Communication, Influence, Planning and Organizational skills.
- Full understanding of the medical role in driving innovative value strategies, Health Economics & Payer Evidence.
- Strategic and growth mindset with demonstrated business acumen.
- Experience supporting early-access programs and PSPs.
- Established track record of basic or clinical research.
- Active contribution to medical education or respiratory registry collaborations.
- Familiarity with real-world evidence (RWE), market access dossiers, or diagnostic collaborations.
