Job Description:POSITION OVERVIEW:Completes a broad range of difficult assignments requiring specialized accounting training and experience. May be assigned to a specific project, to a section of the Finance or another department, or may be assigned to complete tasks at a field location. The Account Exec at this level works independently in completing assigned tasks. This is the first exempt-level position where the Accountant regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Audits accounts and other financial information for completeness, accuracy and legitimacy of charges, and conformance with accounting procedures.Generates and analyzes periodic financial reports, making recommendations regarding status of reserves and assets.Closes the general ledger for each period, prepares financial statements, and completes a detailed analysis of account balances.Prepares selected tax returns, financial reports, or other reports for government agencies, clients, or senior management.Develops and recommends improvements to accounting methods and procedures for area of responsibility.May travel to remote field sites to conduct audits or to assist field personnel in the execution of their duties.Provides guidance to lower-level Accountants and Accounting support personnel.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business (or equivalent) and typically 3+ years of related work experience.
