This position reports to Technical Support Engineering Supervisor in Engineering & Technical Support Department.This is a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer position that has high performance expectations, in providing technical support to a Petroleum Refinery production plant. Successfully incumbents will be a qualified Mechanical Engineer, with solid plant engineering support experience, in a refinery or petrochemical industry. Successful candidate will work in collaborate with highly skilled engineers and specialist from other departments, to resolve plant assets related issues and keep them reliable and available.Key scope of this position include; to perform technical reviews, technical studies, write technical reports/memos, develop procedures and review existing ones, participate in fault-finding of Rotating Equipment and Turbo Machinery, perform Root Cause Analysis and perform design reviews. The successful candidate will ensure engineering designs are performed with full consideration of long-term asset Availability - that is Design for Reliability concepts are applied.Other responsibilities include; stewarding reliability studies related to Rotating Equipment, resolving Bad Actors in a BA program, FMECA, Single Point of Failure studies, Strategic and tactical of Rotating Equipment Management, development of Rotating Equipment monitoring programs, liaison responsibility with the contractors and 3rd party vendor, recommend solutions for rotating equipment reliability, update equipment datasheets.The incumbent will also own various Rotating Equipment KPIs and use them to drive high equipment reliability and availability. Some KPIs include MTBF and Bad Actors. He will also be responsible for developing medium and long-term strategic objectives for Rotating Equipment and help to meet those objectives.During a Rotating Equipment related incident the Rotating Equipment engineer will be expected to lead an incident investigation, while supported by a multi-discipline team. He will lead the team in identify root causes and developing suitable recommendations. The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate above average technical skills as an SME and be a technical point of contact for Rotating Equipment.Therefore, the scope of this position goes beyond basic knowledge or light experience on rotating equipment.The incumbent will be able to work with very little supervision and still achieve high quality work output. He or she will demonstrate above average knowledge of applicable engineering standards and best practices. The successful candidate will be expected to support the development and implementation of digitalization program for predictive maintenance and participate in other initiatives related to improve availability of Rotating Equipment.He or she will be a good communicator, able to coach and mentor less experienced engineers and most importantly support safety culture of the facility.
