- Leads full-time, part-time, and collateral duty project and program SH&E specialists in implementing work plans and the company’s risk management practices.
- Represents the business unit SH&E director on project or program worksites.
- Advises and assists project manager, program manager and/or other project and program personnel in conforming to Parsons’ Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP) management system and Parsons’ policies and procedures.
- Develops site-specific work plans, SH&E compliance programs, training programs, and orientation plans fully conforming to relevant SH&E regulations, Parsons’ ESHARP management system, and client requirements.
- Collaborates with project and program managers to evaluate (sub)contractors’ SH&E performance, planning, and culture to be consistent with the company’s risk management practices and core values.
- Audits projects and programs and their worksites against corporate standards; creates and submits written audit reports.
- Inspects worksites to detect hazards and provides expertise to project personnel to eliminate/control the SH&E risks associated with exposure to the hazards; creates and submits written inspection reports.
- Implements Parsons’ occupational injury and incident reporting and management processes.
- Initiates and conducts thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses using defensible protocols.
- Collaborates with project or program managers, craft workers, and other project or program personnel to identify effective corrective actions; creates and submits comprehensive investigation reports and lessons learned.
- Performs trends analyses on audit findings, inspection findings, and incident reports; creates and submits regular analysis reports.
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 10 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety, including some supervisory experience
- Extensive knowledge of Federal and State health and safety regulations and reporting procedures
- Advanced knowledge of safety-related national consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA)
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity
